The Laboratory of Studies, Applications and Interventions in Communication and Deafness (E.P.E.M.E.K.), covers teaching, research and scientific needs in the subjects related to the Sciences of Communication Disorders (speech, speech, hearing, non-verbal communication and swallowing) and Deafness, generating new knowledge in the areas of basic research, applications and interventions in communication and deafness.
It operates as an established laboratory of the Department of Educational and Social Policy of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts of the University of Macedonia.
